Curriculum Vitae

I am a sculptor and educator with a particular passion for woodworking. Originally from Kentucky I have also made my home and studio on both coasts. Currently you can find me at William & Mary University in Williamsburg, VA. You can find my art at Linda Matney Gallery in Williamsburg, VA; Guardino Gallery in Portland, OR; Zenith Gallery in Washington D.C.; along with special exhibitions around the country.

Instructional Technician, Full-Time                                                                    

William & Mary University, Williamsburg, VA

Maintain studio spaces in the Art & Art History department. Provide instruction and workshops

In woodworking, bronze pour, and metalworking.    

2022

Assistant Professor, 3-D Design, Part-Time                                                              

Gonzaga University, Spokane, WA

Instructor for the 3-D Design class, VART230. Introduction to design elements and principles. Foundational techniques in sculptural material including metal, plaster, paper, and wood.

2021- 2022

Instructional Technician, Part-Time                                                                   

Gonzaga University, Spokane, WA

Monitor and maintain Art Department facilities primarily the woodshop but also the drawing, painting, ceramic, and printmaking studios. Give safety demos and lectures on equipment. Installation director for the Gonzaga University Urban Arts Center.

Instructor for Furniture Design including Introduction ART58A, Intermediate ART58B, and Advanced ART58C. Develop Syllabi, lecture, and demonstrate all relevant skills. Course subjects include design principles, furniture history, and furniture construction.

Instructor for Furniture Design and Woodworking. Teach Introduction ART78A, Intermediate ART78B, and Advanced Woodworking classes ART78C and ART78D. Develop syllabi, lecture on design, demonstrate safe use of all relevant woodworking equipment, and evaluate student mastery of subject matter.

 Taught a community education studio class with an emphasis on individual design.

 Help students plan out woodworking projects and present a variety of demos.

Maintained shop equipment and supplies, instructed employees on proper tool usage. 

Oversaw the finishing and maintenance of cast bronze sculptures, along with coordinating
